About Us

The Right to Dream Academy (RtD) has exhibited amazing growth since its inception in 2000. Through hard work and dedication, the academy has progressed from a small, temporary premise to a multi-million dollar, purpose-built campus on the banks of the river Volta in the Eastern Region of Ghana. West Africa’s most athletically talented boys and girls study at our Cambridge-accredited school and train at the best football facility in the region. All students who gain admission through our rigorous recruitment process are awarded full scholarships. Our students range from 10 - 18 years of age.

Right to Dream Academy graduates have won 32 scholarships at leading independent secondary schools such as The Hotchkiss School, The Cate School, Salisbury Academy (USA) and Millfield School (UK), and top universities and liberal arts colleges including Georgetown University, Bucknel and Williams College.

The value of scholarships awarded to RtD graduates has exceeded 7 million USD.

The Academy has produced 19 professional footballers who have signed for English Premier League clubs (Manchester City and Fulham), as well as top division sides in France, Spain, Norway, Sweden and Russia.

Over the past five years, 13 RtD Academy students and alumni have represented Ghana on the Senior Black Stars and Ghana's U17 and U21 national teams. The Black Stars’ current center forward, Majeed Waris is a RtD graduate.

The RtD's girls program, a recent creation and a global first, is poised to produce many of Africa’s best women footballers in the years to come.

The guiding principle of the Right to Dream Academy is that every talented child has the right to dream of a brighter future and reach his or her full potential within a nurturing environment.
