    The mission of the Hayward Unified School District is to promote educational excellence by empowering students to become dynamic in a global society.

    AmeriCorps is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects over 80,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet community needs in areas such as education. Members serve in full or part-time positions over a 10-12 month period. Viva Bien, Coma Bien, Siéntase Bien (VCS)! AmeriCorps stands for Live Right, Eat Right, Feel Right! and is a part-time AmeriCorps program managed by the Hayward Unified School District. VCS! AmeriCorps' goal is to combat childhood obesity in Hayward by incorporating physical activities and nutrition education. To learn more about AmeriCorps visit www.nationalservice.gov.
