About Us

The Indian Steps Museum is a 100 year old arts-and-crafts style cabin, which houses thousands of Native American artifacts within it's walls. We are dedicated to sharing the history of the early American and Native peoples who lived along the Susquehanna.

Our exhibits feature artifacts from the Susquehannock and Shenk's Ferry tribes, along with others.

We partner with our local chapter of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology on archaeology digs on site, and have held a Native American Festival annually for over three decades.  Our parent organization is the Conservation Society of York County, a nearly 100 year old non-profit organization.
