    To promote a larger, healthier urban forest as part of the urban ecosystem, through community planting, maintenance, education and advocacy.

    About Us

    Friends of the Urban Forest is committed to the belief that trees are a critical element of a livable urban environment. Founded in 1981, FUF offers financial, technical, and practical assistance to individuals and neighborhood groups who want to plant and take care for trees. FUF has planted over 35,000 trees on the streets of San Francisco-about 30% of the the city total street trees.
