Florida Statewide AmeriCorps VISTA Program

The Florida Statewide VISTA Program (previously Florida Campus Compact) hosted by Florida State University aligns with the mission of the Corporation for National and Community Service and AmeriCorps VISTA by placing VISTA members with colleges, universities and community-based organizations in order to eliminate poverty in local communities. The Florida Statewide AmeriCorps VISTA Program provides resources, networking opportunities, and training for VISTA members. VISTA members work to combat poverty through leveraging higher education resources to build the capacity of local non-profit organizations and through recruiting and training college students to provide college access mentoring for low income youth. FSAVP VISTA members are successfully building bridges between the classrooms and communities by connecting educators, students, and community partners to improve education and address societal needs through campus-community partnerships, applied civic education, and engaged citizenship.  The Florida Statewide VISTA Program sponsored by Florida State University is a statewide AmeriCorps VISTA with approximately 40 different VISTA initiatives and 7 Summer VISTA Associate programs.
