About Us

About Maryland Hall

Dedicated to art for all, we are the region’s cultural core, convening and engaging all people in arts experiences that strengthen community. Maryland Hall is our home and the home of enlightened artists, musicians and community groups from around the region.

Discover an energy where the arts serve to connect, empower, inspire and heal through arts education, visual arts, performing arts and entertainment.

Four premiere resident programs: Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, Annapolis Opera, Ballet Theatre of Maryland and Live Arts Maryland join a host of community partners (Annapolis Film Festival, Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra, Peabody Academy, VisionWorkshops, The Writer’s Center and more) and resident visual artists in creating the core of a vibrantly active space.

Founded in 1979 to promote art appreciation and education, Maryland Hall houses five gallery spaces, two theaters, studio spaces and classrooms. Over 100,000 students, artists, audience members and lifelong learners pass through our doors annually.

Located in the Annapolis High School, constructed in 1932, Maryland Hall is managed as a private/public partnership with Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
