About Us

Membership:

A total 15 organizations from across the state became formal members of the MOC and nominated their Board representatives. These founding organizations include: Harriet Tubman Center, FACT of Flint, Michigan Organizing Project, Michigan Voices, Creating Change Battle Creek, Great Start Collaborative-Wayne, AFT Local 6075, Center for Progressive Leadership, Ed Trust Midwest, Battle Creek Women’s Coop , Our Kids Come First, Youth Voice, Detroit Action Commonwealth, ACLU Michigan and the United Tenants Council.

Our Mission:

To help build capacity in grassroots organizations on the local and state level, provide leadership training to members, carry out civic engagement projects and act on issues that improve the quality of life for children and adults in the State of Michigan.

Our Vision:

To bring together faith based, civic, community and social service organizations to create a broadly shared agenda for the renewal of Michigan, one that ties together the interests of revitalizing Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids and other urban communities, with the overall goal of creating opportunity for families throughout our State.
