Herring Gut Learning Center

Herring Gut Learning Center is a non-profit marine education center overlooking a working harbor in the small fishing village of Port Clyde, Maine. Using aquaculture and marine science as a springboard to learning, our programs incorporate hands-on teaching methods to strengthen students' skills in science, math and literacy while providing experiences that promote responsible stewardship of the marine environment.

We offer middle and high school aquaculture and marine science courses, after-school and community outreach activities, teacher training workshops and marine science summer camps. Our unique approach to learning inspires participants to explore, building meaningful connections between classroom concepts and their real-life applications.
