ST CATS & DOGS

  • Mission

St. Cats and Dogs of Nay Aug Zoo, Scranton, Pennsylvania, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer group, established in 2012 to help control and assist the area street cat population. ~ We are NOT a Shelter ~ Through TNR, adoption of friendlies, and other community projects, we strive to reduce the population and improve the lives of our feline friends St. Cats & Dogs of Nay Aug Zoo is a 100% volunteer-maintained organization. We rely on committed, dedicated, and diligent volunteers to fulfill our mission of improving the lives of animals in the Scranton area.

    About Us

Unsocialized cats living alone or in colonies are humanely trapped, sterilized, and returned to their home environment. Unable to produce more kittens, they can live out their lives in peace, cared for by volunteers who provide food and shelter. St. Cats works together with the veterinarians of Eastern Pennsylvania Animal Alliance to provide low-cost spay and neuter for both cats and dogs.

Each friendly cat and kitten that passes through our doors is given a chance at a better life as an indoor pet through our adoption program, including cats and kittens with special needs. This is where your volunteer assistance is needed. We are seeking volunteers to assist with the care and feeding of our friendly cats and kittens waiting for their forever home. Responsibilities include feeding, scooping litter, cleaning cages, laundry, and sweeping. We can not accept volunteers JUST to socialize with the cats, but volunteers are welcome and encouraged to socialize and play with the animals once the cleaning is done.
