  • About Us

BDPA is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that consists primarily of persons directly employed by or interested in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Earl Pace, Jr. and David Wimberly founded BDPA in May 1975 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, out of shared concerns that minorities were not adequately represented in the computer industry. We were the first national organization to address issues related to the “Digital Divide.”

BDPA provides professional and personal enrichment through monthly program meetings and other activities. Education, skills training and professional development programs are some of the strategies actively used by the association in reaching these objectives.
