 A group of concerned parents founded Crohn’s and Colitis Canada in 1974 to help their children and others taking on Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.

 We are the only national, volunteer-based charity dedicated to discovering cures for Crohn’s and colitis and improving the lives of everyone affected by the chronic autoimmune diseases.

 We invest in world-class research, provide national support programs, lead advocacy initiatives, and create awareness about the chronic autoimmune diseases, emphasizing the need to discover cures.

We are one of the top two health charity funders of Crohn’s and colitis research in the world, investing more than $130 million over the past 47 years.

 We are the largest non-governmental funder of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) research in Canada, and we have made tremendous progress thanks to the research community and generous supporters.

 We fund research dedicated to discovering the causes and triggers of the diseases, enhancing or identifying new treatments, supporting symptom management, and discovering new ways to provide the very best care to people with Crohn’s or colitis.
