AbleVoices

AbleVoices teaches photography to people with disabilities as a means for self-expression, empowerment, and advocacy. Our mission is to transform their lives by amplifying their voice through the powerful medium of photography. We provide our programs to school special education students and disability organization participants. Every project culminates in a gallery photography exhibit and opening reception where family, friends and the community are invited to learn about and celebrate the photographers, helping to foster more inclusive communities. We also offer a summer photography club and other outings throughout the year to further participants' photography skills and provide social opportunities. During this time of quarantine, we have a virtual photography club to help reduce AbleVoices participants' feelings of anxiety and loneliness.
