Reunion Sportive d'Haiti, Inc.
Reunion Sportive d’Haiti, Inc. (“RSH”) is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Washington DC area. ItsMission is to build skills, character, and communities through sports and education, and to promote the well-being of children in rural Haiti to reach their full potential in society. It works side-by-side with local communities to reduce the effects of poverty, to promote rural economic development, to assist communities in education projects, and to help stop the spread of cholera epidemic by providing clean water and sanitation.
RSH has a youth development program which includes annual youth summer soccer camps, seminars on leadership and human rights and conflict prevention, and essay competitions for thousands of at risk-youth in Haiti. This project educates and empowers vulnerable children and young people who are living in object poverty, without clean water, electricity, or adequate sanitation. These kids are exposed to violence and a life of delinquency. Our program provides them an opportunity to play sports, learn life skills and discipline. It helps reduces teen pregnancy and juvenile delinquency, as well as helps rebuild Haiti through local community empowerment, positive social interaction, youth leadership development, and community stabilization by keeping youth off the streets during the summer months and provide economic opportunity to impoverished rural communities.
Working with the local Catholic Church and Foundation Digicel, RSH facilitated the construction of an elementary school in the Village of Roche-Jabouin. Children in that village and surrounding areas used to walk 3 hours on foot on rocky roads to receive a basic education. Now, these kids are being educated in their own village. RSH continues to support this school and a soccer school by training teachers and donating education materials.
We now have a plan to drill and install 5 wells with solar panels and build 250 latrines in rural communities that have no access to clean water or adequate sanitation. These villages are going through a deadly cholera epidemic. We want to reduce the effects of this deadly disease, including water borne-diseases in children.
Hope you will support us by making a donation or partnering with us to make a difference in the lives of Haiti's children. Visit us at www.RSHaiti.org
