  • Mission

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

    About Us

The American Cancer Society Tampa Hope Lodge is a non-medical residential facility designed to offer housing, emotional support and referral services free of charge to any cancer patient who travels to the Tampa Bay area for treatment. The facility includes 40 suites with private baths that comfortably accommodate the patient and a caregiver. A community dining area and six kitchens provide residents with the opportunity to share meals and free time with others. Residents purchase and prepare their own food in addition to maintaining the upkeep of their suites. Hope Lodge also has a large family room, laundry rooms, a library, internet access and recreational areas. Volunteers make a difference by sharing and caring with Hope Lodge residents. Whether you have a few hours once a week or once a month, you can make a difference. You can volunteer as an individual or as part of a community or civic group on an ongoing basis or as a participant in a one-time project.
