World Entrepreneurship Day (WED)
Before April 17th, 2009, there were days for pirates, mothers, turtles, even pasta, but nada for entrepreneurs. WED seeks to join the world in celebrating the heroism of entrepreneurs by creating a network of companies, universities, and organizations that plan to celebrate WED with an event, activity, or party. The 2nd annual celebration is scheduled for April 16th, 2010.
Some of our advisors/endorsers include Tim Draper (legendary VC of DFJ), Steve Wozniak (Co-founder, Apple), David Pogue (NY Times Tech Columnist), Benjamin Zander (Conductor, Best-selling author, TED and World Economic Forum speaker), the Honorable David M. Walker (Former Chief Comptroller of the United States Government), and many other global leaders.
We are recruiting Country Champions, Interns, Direct Study Students, and Volunteers in a wide range of focus areas (outreach strategies to social media and enrollment).
