About Us

Onestin Youth Association was created in December 2005 and it has well over 150 members ranging between 14 and 35 years of age from different social backgrounds.

The members of the Onestin Youth Association have established themselves as a N.G.O interested in promoting youth activities, which are aimed at achieving better inter-human communication and relationships through development and involvement in social and cultural projects at local, national and international scale, for better knowledge, preservation and promotion of moral and cultural values. Thus, we provide many courses and trainings for youngsters, that have the purpose of social inclusion and which help their personal development:

  • weekly based personal development workshops through theatre, guitar, non-formal education, ecological initiatives, cooking and nutrition, board games, cineforum, outdoor activities, handmade and other creative workshops and team-building exercises
  • currently we are working together with the volunteers at the visibility, structure and activities definition of an European Solidarity Corps, 12 months project (October 2020 - September 2021), called “Verde Deschis”(“Light Green”), dedicated to open the mind of the local community in terms of sustainable matters, such as recycling, upcycling, cycling, protection of biodiversity, tree planting, gardening, European values awareness and others.
  • we are as well working with our volunteers on the preparation of the following youth exchanges:
  • “European heArts” - consisting in promoting European dimension and citizenship and create new youth policies, starting from the emotions and needs of people
  • “EuRo P.I.G.S. & F.I.G.S. (Food Introspection Glimpsing Sustainability)“ - proposing a reflection between meat and lack of meat, ancient and contemporary traditions, common sense and individual needs, cultural identity and European citizenship.
  • starting with spring 2021, we are planning on building a socio-cultural center in the nearby forest, based on bio-construction and permaculture principles, with the aim of organizing summer camps, festivals and projects, non-formal and team-building activities, ecological initiatives, workshops focused on art, hosting international volunteers and so on.
