Now in our 50th year, Good Shepherd School is a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit as determined by the Internal Revenue Service and a nonsectarian school for children six weeks to six years of age who have developmental disabilities. We are one of the few fully inclusive early childhood programs in the area, which means the special needs children who attend Good Shepherd are integrated in classrooms with typically developing children. The type of children served with special needs includes, downs syndrome, autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders. Approximately 50% of the children served by Good Shepherd's programs are ones with special needs. Therapeutic intervention specialists are an integral part of our staff. These include developmental therapists, speech and language pathologists, physical and occupational therapists and a play therapist.
