MASSACHUSETTS HEAD START ASSOCIATION INC

  • Mission

MHSA serves as the voice of Head Start in Massachusetts by providing collaborative learning opportunities, leveraging partnerships, and advocating for Head Start programs.

    About Us

MHSA supports the 29 Head Start programs in MA as described by our mission statement. In 2021, more than 10,000 children from birth to age 5 years and their families received comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, mental health, and family support services from the more than 4,000 staff working in MA Head Start programs. Our organization is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and paid Executive Director.

Our programmatic goals include the following:

    1. Provide collaborative learning opportunities for its members and partners.

    2. Leverage partnerships to support and enhance the Head Start community.

    3. Advocate for Head Start programs.

In order to meet the programmatic goals, we have established corresponding administrative and financial goals for our organization, which includes expanding our staff capacity, strengthening the work of our Board Committees, and increasing revenue.
