The North Broward Hospital District dba Broward Health is the healthcare safety-net provider for two thirds of Broward County, Florida’s second-largest county (pop. 1.9 million). Broward County is located just north of Miami-Dade County and along the Atlantic Ocean. Broward Health operates 4 hospitals and 12 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) that provide primary and preventive care in medically underserved areas, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. These FQHCs are strategically located within the county’s highest-need zip codes, enabling access for individuals facing multiple barriers to care, including high rates of uninsured or underinsured status and housing instability. Broward Health is home to the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the county’s northern region. Broward Health is a Ryan White Part A provider and the only Ryan White Parts C and D provider in the county.
