LONGVIEW ARBORETUM AND NATURE CENTER

  • Mission

The mission of Longview Arboretum and Nature Center is to build and maintain a public garden and Arboretum, which celebrates the unique natural beauty of East Texas and is committed to raising environmental awareness through education, horticulture, conservation, and research.

    About Us

The Longview Arboretum and Nature Center, in partnership with the City of Longview, has cultivated undevelopable land into a destination point for locals and tourists to enjoy the natural beauty unique to East Texas. Nestled in trees and gentle hills along Grace Creek, the 26 acres sits in the heart of Longview a short car ride from Downtown. Adjacent to Maude Cobb Convention Center, the gardens attract birds, butterflies, wildlife, and indigenous flora and fauna. In 2022, the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association designated the Longview Arboretum and Nature Center as a Great Texas Public Space. The Arboretum hosts concerts in the gardens each spring and fall. There is also a summer camp program for children to learn about and interact with nature. From planting trees to sharing a love for the natural environment with the next generation, there are so many ways to be involved in volunteerism at the Arboretum.
