    We believe that all humans have the right to self-worth, dignity, and a sense of agency. Amilia’s Light exists to: Meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of young women, who have been affected by the commercial sex trade, prostitution, and trafficking. Address prevention in our local communities.

    About Us

    Amilia's Light was founded following the tragic death of 5 year old Amilia Luhrmann in a house explosion. Partnering with Daughters of Freedom, an NGO in Kampala, Uganda, Amilia's Light was started in her memory and supported five young women the first year. Growing and expanding over the years since 2015, last year we held classes for 20 young women. We do this through our holistic Empowerment Program run at the 10,000 Lights Center we established. Our Program is holistic in nature and focuses on the three pillars of wellness, education and life skills. If you are interested in learning more please contact development@amiliaslight.org.
