Crittenton Services of Greater Washington
Crittenton Services of Greater Washington (CSGW), founded in 1895, has adapted its services to meet the ever changing needs of young women. Beginning with a residential home for pregnant teenagers that closed in 1978, the current focus is on providing support to teen women and pregnancy prevention services and prenatal education in the community and schools. CSGW works in schools to provide weekly sessions on life skills, healthy behaviors, and pregnancy prevention through four programs: SNEAKERS, PEARLS, Forceeing the Future, and Goal Setting Girls.
Crittenton Services of Greater Washington empowers teen girls to overcome obstacles, make positive choices, and achieve their goals through programs in schools throughout the Greater Washington area.
Through our programs, teen girls learn to value their gifts and develop essential life skills. Most importantly, they attain a belief in their ability to succeed.
For three decades, the results have been life changing: the girls in our programs are staying in school, avoiding pregnancy, graduating from high school, and going on to college and jobs.
Our mission: CSGW strengthens the ability of teen women to set and achieve, their school, work, and life goals.
