The Berkeley Baby Book Project

Our first IL Program began serving Berkeley in mid-2015. It was launched in partnership with Head Start sites. In late 2020 we added ZIP Code 94608 (Emeryville) to that Program. In 2022 we began an IL Program serving Richmond & San Pablo -- again, working with Head Start Sites to launch.

Our current (Fall 2023) goal is to secure funding sufficient to allow us to open the Online Enrollment form for Richmond & San Pablo. Currently only paper forms, mailed to us, are used. Berkeley & Emeryville Online enrollment began in mid-2020 (Covid shut downs pushed us to do so!). We predict that at least 2,000 children will be added very quickly, then more up to about 65% of the 7,0000-ish under-five year olds in that area, when Online enrollment is allowed in Rich-SanPab. We want to be sure we're able to pay IL Book invoices, and keep our lights on, for every child we enroll until they turn age 5.
