Faith Hospice (Holland Home)
Since 1995, Faith Hospice has been providing comfort and support for people at the end-of-life. Faith Hospice services the Greater Grand Rapids area. Our hospice teams, made up of medical professionals, social workers, chaplains and volunteers, focus on relieving pain and troublesome symptoms along with providing emotional and spiritual support for the patient and their family.
Volunteers are at the heart of hospice. By providing care and comfort to those at the end of life, you will be enriching your own life as well. Our volunteers bring joy to patients in a variety of settings(private homes, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities and at our hospice residence Trillium Woods in Byron Center.) Here’s just a few of the ways our volunteers serve:
- Offering companionship by sitting, walking or reading to a patient.
- Playing music or providing pet visits.
- Administrative or office tasks.
- Providing respite for caregivers.
- Assisting with light household chores.
- Providing haircuts.
All volunteers are trained and set their own hours, generally 2-4 hours a month. If you are ready to make a difference in the world, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Diane at 616-235-5134.
