    To engage, delight, and educate the community through the presentation and exploration of history. The collection is extended to the public as a source of lifelong learning.

    About Us

    The Hermosa Beach Historical Society was founded in 1987 by long time resident who wanted to learn more about their hometown and preserve its history for future generations. The HBHS hosts many lively events with and for our South Bay community, including the Surfer's Walk of Fame and Volleyball Hall of Fame celebrations. The Museum also provides monthly educational programming with local figures and academics, as well as field trip opportunities for local students.
