African Reniassance Festival

  • About Us

We, the African Renaissance Festival Incorporated, also known as the African Renaissance Foundation, are a Pan-African not-for-profit organization founded in 2018. We were granted legal status and tax exemption in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Our mission is to support United States strategic interests in Africa by promoting culturally sensitive democracy, human rights, trade, investment, infrastructure development, technology transfer, arts, entertainment, and intellectual discourse on the African continent and in the United States. Our primary aim and objective are to promote reconciliation between the descendants of Africans who were tragically traded to Europeans for salt, gunpowder, tobacco, and other material possessions that can never equate to the worth of human life.

We hosted the inaugural African Renaissance Festival in Accra in 2021, featuring musical performances by African and Jamaican artists with messages of peace, love, and harmony. Building on this success, we plan to host an annual three-week celebratory festival aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Africa and the African diaspora. Our 2024 festival will encompass business forums, fundraising galas, river cruises, fashion shows, musical performances, historical tours, and more throughout major cities in the United States.

At our core, we advocate for African sovereignty and unity, while also furthering sustainable development, education, preventative health, and food security across Africa. We aim to decolonize perspectives both within and outside the continent and foster greater engagement between Africa and the United States rooted in mutual respect and alignment of strategic interests. In service of our Pan-African vision, we support open borders, repatriation efforts, and land access for descendants of enslaved Africans across the diaspora.

Our long-term goal is to produce 100 millionaires in various industries under the age of 40 within the next decade, from 2025 through the African Center for Innovation and Technology (ACIT). Our mission at ACIT is to create the next generation of African tech innovators and entrepreneurs through training, mentoring, incubation, business development, and placement.

Our primary target population is disadvantaged African youth with the passion to succeed but who do not have the necessary resources to become successful.
