    About Us

    Affordable Housng Centers of Pennsylvania is a HUD housing counseling non-profit organiztion. Annually we serve approximately 700 households in the Greater Phladelphia region. 90% of the clients we serve are people of color, 82% are below 80% of Area Median Income guidelines (below $65,000 for a family of 4) and 66% are female.

    Counseling and education is provided to clients that are interested in being engaged in the home purchase process for the first-time. Affordable Housing Centers of Pennsylvania works community-based lenders, realtors and home insurance agents who offer their expertise to our clients so that they are aware of all stages in the home buying process.

    Clients that are behind with their mortgage and are at risk of foreclosure also contact our agency to receive assistance to determine if there are options to retain their property. Counselors assist the client in negotiating retention options during the conciliation conferences in City Hall.
