13 Hands Equine Rescue Inc.

We rescue, rehabilitate, re-train and re-home abandoned, abused, unwanted horses; saving them from slaughter. Several of these rescued horses are used in our Equine Assisted Therapy programs for veterans and first responders. People suffering from PTSD, anxiety, depression and other issues are helped with this therapy. We are expanding our therapy program to help many more people. We have saved over 125 horses so far, finding permanent homes for over 1/2 of them. Others are in foster care, training or recovering from injuries and/or illness. If a horse cannot be re-homed or used in our therapy program, they will live out their life in comfort on our farm. They will never be mistreated again

We are located in Mount Kisco, New York on an historic farm. We need a lot of volunteers to help care for our horses. You do not need to know hoses. We will teach you! We also need office help for things like: fundraising, event planning, administrative tasks, etc.
