About Us

Queens for Troops was born out of a desire to do more for our country's wounded warriors after a couple of our Texas rodeo queens were invited to visit with wounded warriors in San Antonio. We wanted more opportunites to say "thanks" for the sacrifices they have made for our freedoms! Queens for Troops will conduct fund-raising trail rides and other events with all proceeds going to benefit Helping a Hero. Queens for Troops will also participate in Helping a Hero home presentations, fund-raising events, and other opportunities to promote awareness and support Helping a Hero. Helping a Hero is a Texas based 501(c)(3) that builds specially adapted homes for our severely wounded heroes injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are the #1 organization in Texas building homes for our wounded heroes and the 2nd largest in the nation. They are the only organization building homes for our wounded heroes with NO PAID STAFF!!! 100% of the funds raised will go directly into a home for one of our wounded heroes. To date, they have built 26 homes and have 20 in Texas for wounded heroes including a triple amputee, quadriplegic, paraplegic, blind, double arm amputee, severe Traumatic Brain Injury, several double amputees and burn victims. They currently have homes underway for a burn victim in San Antonio, a double amputee in Ft Worth, a single amputee in Cedar Park, TX, an amputee in Frisco, TX, a burn victim in The Woodlands and a hero suffering from a traumatic brain injury in LaMarque, TX. Queens for Troops is a great way for current and former rodeo queens, trail ride queens, drill team queens, fair queens, and others to come together as a group to support our heroes.
