Mighty Writers Camden

  • Mission

When the pandemic hit, we refashioned our mission and began distributing groceries, diapers, masks, disinfectant wipes and other essentials to our five Mighty communities. At the same time, we created a virtual curriculum for Mighty kids seven to 17. Everything we do is free to the families and kids we serve.

    About Us

Think clearly and write with clarity-It's our battle cry, our tagline, our mantra. It's served as our elevator pitch and mission statement since our launch in 2009. But when the virus began to strangle our Mighty communities, our mission suddenly needed amending. You can't think or write with clarity if you're hungry. So we began distributing lunches to kids. The lunch numbers grew quickly, so we began also distributing boxes of groceries. Then we began adding diapers for the tiniest members of our communities. We learned Zoom, scouted writing platforms, updated our MW kids and families about next steps, and airlifted Mighty Writers to a safe spot in the online universe. We launched a roster of "at-home" classes. For now, we figure our best bet is to make sure kids stay safe while we keep hustling. We're determined to find ways to best serve the people and children who have so graciously allowed us into their communities these last 10+ years.
