About Us

Spend the Best Two Hours of Your Week: Mentor low-income, high-achieving high school students!

Minds Matter is looking for college graduates who can commit two hours on Saturdays (12:30-2:30) during the school year to helping our students achieve their dreams of attending college. Our Mentors are professionals and graduate students who are committed to helping low-income high-achieving high school students. Our volunteers are enthusiastic about the program and committed to working with motivated students to help them achieve their academic pursuits.

Minds Matter Portland is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to transform the lives of accomplished high school students from low-income families by broadening their dreams and preparing them for college success. Our goal is to equip underprivileged high school students with the tools to gain acceptance to a four-year university and navigate the financial aid process. 100% of our students have been admitted to a four-year college with significant financial aid.
