KIDS V CANCER promotes pediatric cancer research by identifying structural impediments at key junctures in the research process – new drugs, tissue donation and access to funding – and developing strategies to address them. Towards this end, Kids v Cancer has a pediatric post mortem tissue bank, a program to engage federal agencies in funding and drug development for pediatric cancer drugs, and legislation to provide market incentives for pediatric cancer drug development. With increased research and drug development, Kids v Cancer hopes to improve the treatment and quality of life of children diagnosed with cancer.
