Wisconsin HealthCorps

Members serving with the Wisconsin HealthCorps can chose to be placed in a Community Health Center, Public Health Department, or health focused non-profit. Members perform a variety of roles and duties at each of these host sites, allowing Members to find the health care experience that best fits their professional development goals. Our Program, and Member's ultimate goal is to improve the health of Wisconsin's communities by increasing knowledge of healthy behaviors, and providing some of Wisconsin's most vulnerable residents with the means to access health care. During their year of service Members will be providing information to individuals on access to care, health insurance options, benefit programs, and health center/ host site services, perform patient call-backs, prepare materials for both individual patients and communities, and teach healthy lifestyle courses to community members- covering a variety of topics such as: healthy eating habits, chronic disease maintenance, and public health concepts.
