For Unidos, the neighborhood is the unit of change. Rather than identifying an area like healthcare or education, we identify a geographic location. Because relational networks transmit both information and intangible benefits, collective change is possible across various areas. We do this through three strategies: 1) Direct Services like homework help, enrichment activities and workshops. These meet felt needs and build trust which leads to 2) Community Building. Through cultural events, programs and mutual aid, the social fabric is strengthened so that 3)RESIDENT-LED INITIATIVES look toward larger issues to create a brighter future for themselves and their families.
