The Garfield Center Foundation runs the Garfield Center for the Arts at The Prince Theatre, located in Historic Downtown Chestertown. The Garfield Center for the Arts provides 11 months of arts programming and educational workshops to Maryland's Upper Eastern Shore, a rural community with needs, and opportunities unique in the state. A non-profit organization that owns the Prince Theatre, an Art Deco movie theatre built in 1928. Events include Theatre, Music, Film Community Events and arts workshops for all ages.
The Mission of the Garfield Center Foundation: To enhance and inspire Maryland's upper eastern shore community through arts and entertainment, cultural enrichment and performing arts education. As steward of the Prince Theatre building, the Foundation ensures the viability of this valuable community asset
