    Founded in 1975, Canine Companions for Independence, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides expertly trained service dogs and ongoing support to people with disabilities.

    There are approximately 64 million Americans living with a disability. Canine Companions is a national non-profit organization that provides expertly trained service dogs and a lifetime of follow-up services - completely free of charge - to children, adults and veterans with disabilities so they can lead lives with greater independence.

    Headquartered in Santa Rosa, CA, Canine Companions is the largest non-profit provider of service dogs, and is recognized worldwide for the excellence of its dogs, and the quality and longevity of the matches it makes between dogs and people. The result is a life full of increased independence and loving companionship.
