  • Mission

The California Dental Association Foundation's mission is to improve the oral health of all Californians by supporting the dental profession in its efforts to meet community needs. Oral health is critical to the total health and well-being of an individual. For children, it means they won't live in pain or miss school. For adults, it can enhance employment outcomes, improve quality of life and, for many, restore dignity.

    About Us

    Project description

CDA Cares began in 2012 with the goal of relieving pain and infection for those who experience barriers to care. The program provides cleanings, fillings, extractions, oral health education and assistance in finding a dental home to more than 2,000 patients at each clinic.

The clinic is staffed by 1,500 volunteers from dentistry, medicine and the community. Dental volunteers include dentists, oral surgeons, pediatric dentists, lab technicians, hygienists and dental assistants. Medical volunteers include physicians, nurses and pharmacists; community volunteers provide translation services, assist with patient and volunteer registration and escort patients to treatment areas.
