As a not-for-profit financial institution, Mission City Credit Union is guided by the principle of the social mission. Our social mission is our commitment to serving our members' financial needs and improving their financial well-being, rather than maximizing profits for shareholders or owners. We are member-owned and democratically governed by volunteers, which means that our decisions are made based on the interests of our members. Unlike banks, credit unions do not have shareholders who demand high returns on their investments. In contrast, we focus on providing affordable financial services to our members as well as our community.
In addition to providing financial services, we also have a social and community-oriented mission. We support community development initiatives such as financial literacy education programs in the Santa Clara Unified School District. Mission City Credit Union is committed to our members and our community.
