    Camp Salmen Nature Park in Slidell, LA opened to the public in 2010 with the mission to preserve the historical, cultural, biological and archaeological legacies and to transform it into a public recreational park for all to enjoy its natural beauty. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy over 6 miles of walking trails that take you through the diverse habitats including along the edge of the bayou. Future plans for this park include additional pavillions, installation of a playground, an outdoor ampitheatre and educational programs so that community members can explore nature in exciting ways.
