  • Mission

The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno is home to the School of the Arts — an epicenter for the University’s booming arts scene. The School of the Arts encompasses three departments: art, music and theatre and dance. We are driven to help teach students and help them blossom into thriving artists. Students and faculty create work, which we showcase to the community to inspire and encourage imagination.

    About Us

Art displays, whether visual or live in art, music, or theatre and dance can be found in a variety of venues. The School of the Arts houses a permanent collection of over 1,000 artwork pieces. In addition, the University Galleries offers programming and events with rotating art exhibitions. We also boast the award-winning Black Rock Press - a national book art press. The School hosts the Reno Jazz Festival each year - one of the largest jazz festivals in the world featuring acclaimed international artists. We’ve also added musical theatre to our program offerings to bring a diverse selection of music, theatre and dance to our local community.
