    Barn Supervisor for Horse Rescue

    Have you always wanted to work with horses? Did you possibly have them when you were younger, but having your own horse seemed impossible as an adult? Do you have extra time to give, but have not found the right fit for your skills?

    We have a great opportunity for you to live you dream of working with horses while making a valuable contribution to our community!

    Saffyre Sanctuary, a 100% volunteer organization, is looking for two or three able bodied retired or semi-retired adults to supervise the barn for our resident sanctuary horses 3-4 days per week.

    Hours are from 3 PM to approximately 8 PM (5-6 hours per day)

    Great safe outside opportunity and good exercise (you can finally get out of the house!)

    Qualities we are looking for:

    Attention to detail

    Can do heavy lifting and manual labor

    Able to follow directions

    Able to supervise and delegate tasks

    Kind leadership and great organizational skills (OCD is a plus!)

    Good people skills and good with young adults

    Some understanding of horse behavior and their health related issues

    Spiritual beliefs and an open mind is a big plus

    Dedication, love, and kindness to all living things

    Daily Duties:

    Tasks include stall cleaning, feeding hay, preparing custom equine meals, barn maintenance, care of horses, including grooming and turn out, instructing other volunteers, and having a good time!

    We are willing to train the perfect applicants!
