Marymount Manhattan College
Marymount Manhattan College is an urban, independent undergraduate liberal arts college located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, New York.
The mission of the College is to educate a socially and economically diverse population by fostering intellectual achievement and personal growth, and by providing opportunities for career development. Inherent in this mission is the intent to develop an awareness of social, political, cultural and ethical issues, in the belief that this awareness will lead to concern for, participation in, and improvement of society. To accomplish this mission, the College offers a strong curriculum in the arts and sciences for students of all ages. Central to these efforts is the particular attention given to the individual student.
Marymount Manhattan College also seeks to be a resource and learning center for its metropolitan community.
Marymount Manhattan College enrolls over 2,000 full-time and part-time students. The College strives to meet the educational needs of students of diverse ages and backgrounds, epecially those traditionally underserved by higher education, by providing a supportive academic environment, and by offering affordable tuition, scholarship, special and adult education programs.
- Over 40 percent of our students are African American, Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander or Native American.
- Adults comprise 30 percent of the student body.
- Eighty percent of our students receive financial aid.
- International students, representing 40 different countries, comprise eight percent of the student body.
