  • Mission

We believe that one step in restoring dignity to a family who has endured homelessness is to help them create a home that is functional, comfortable, and inviting. Using both donated (and occasionally purchased) furniture and household goods, our team helps to convert a house (or apartment) into a real home - creating a space for people to thrive.

    About Us

We are a group of volunteers from southeast Michigan who help to provide furnishings for people, in Washtenaw County, who are moving out of homeless shelters and into rental housing. We began in 2017 as a small group of friends working together to furnish a home for one single mom and her children.

Inspired by that experience, and by the need in our community, we have grown to over one hundred and twenty volunteers. House N2 Home gets clients referred to us by one of 50 local agencies once housing is secured. House N2 Home has completely furnished over 1,438 homes for 3,048 people (1,348 children) transitioning from homelessness in Washtenaw County since 2017. In 2024 we furnished the most homes in one year, with an astounding 424 furnished homes for 879 people (436 children).

Volunteers can engage any way they see fit. From sourcing donations, or selecting items for clients, to furnishing a home and making beds, or even painting furniture. Whatever your skill set possess, we can use the help!
