State Theatre Regional Arts Center at New Brunswick
New Jersey's second largest cultural provider, State Theatre New Jersey is a magnificently renovated silent-film palace that is today a vibrant 1,850-seat nonprofit venue. We present a diverse lineup of world-class performing artists and educational programs that enrich the lives of 225,000 residents annually. Programming embraces all genres of the performing arts, including a symphony series, orchestral pops, a Broadway series, comedy, rock/pop, jazz and blues, ballet and modern dance, and international and family programming. Central to our mission since 1988, educational and outreach initiatives have grown to reach 30,000 people annually with performances, workshops, in-school programs, and artist residencies. In 2016-2017, State Theatre New Jersey activates a series of strategic initiatives to build on its legacy of outstanding mainstage and educational offerings, as well as broadening outreach to residents of all backgrounds. With artistic excellence, diversity in programming, and a patron-focused approach as our hallmarks, The State is a vital resource for the region.
