NJY Teen Camp

The New Jersey "Y" camps have operated Jewish sleepaway camps since 1920. Our camps are located in the Pocono Mountains of Milford and Lake Como, Pennsylvania, and each camp is designed to work with a specific population. The staff and program are such that every camper has the opportunity to enjoy a full camp experience based on his or her individual needs.

Teen Camp serves young people entering grades 10 and 11 in high school, ages 15-16 on our beautiful Milford campus. Teen Camp provides an opportunity for children to participate in a wide array of elective activities as well as offering teen travel experiences, community service projects and leadership training. Campers live in dedicated bunks with 2 or 3 counselors living with them.

Teen Camp staff are carefully selected based on their experience with teenagers, educational background and their desire to work in an intensive environment. All staff attends a week-long training program and receive on-going training through weekly meetings and daily supervision on the job. Each year we hire general counselors who also fulfill a variety of specialist and activity leading roles.
