The Simon Community

The Simon Community has been working since 1963 to alleviate the isolation of people sleeping rough, provide a place where they can gain a sense of belonging, and foster the skills they need to move towards independent living.

We are a community of homeless people and volunteers living and working together in a spirit of love, acceptance, tolerance and understanding. We aim to reach out to support and campaign for people who are experiencing homelessness, and particularly those for whom no other provision exists.

Our previously homeless residents work alongside volunteers to deliver outreach services, providing hospitality, hot drinks, and food to those still on the streets. We run nine different services throughout the week, including early morning tea runs and late evening street work, an evening centre on Tuesdays, soup run on Thursdays and a street cafe on Sunday. We welcome volunteers who can regularly spare a few hours a week to help out on our services, delivering much needed support to people who are street homeless.
