  • Mission

The mission of Madison Heights Citizens United is to educate and offer a platform for open discussion on racial inequalities in our community and country, understand and seek ways to improve race relations and alleviate systemic racism.

    About Us

Madison Heights Citizens United began as a peaceful protest after the death of George Floyd. Following our first protest we held an outdoor town hall meeting discussing the how racism permeates our society and affects everyone. Madison Heights Citizens United was formed after these discussions and we began having monthly meetings for everyone to come and discuss the impacts of race and how we can contribute to ending it. Madison Heights Citizens United has also raised money for our local Goodfellows chapter for Christmas gifts for local youth and for our local food pantry. On June 19th, 2021 Madison Heights Citizens United collaborated with the Madison Heights' Human Relations and Equity Commission to celebrate its first Juneteenth festival.

Plans for next years Juneteenth are underway. We are also looking to implement new programs that involve youth and help us to have deeper conversations surrounding racism in the BIPOC community.
