  • Mission

PYD envisions a future where disabilities are embraced as part of the diversity that enriches our communities with equal opportunities for success and self-determination.

Our mission is to help young people with disabilities unlock and reach their full potential through mentorship, career development, and leadership programs while guiding organizations to build disability-inclusive environments.

Through innovative programs we break down barriers, providing the support and resources needed to increase participation and inclusion for disabled youth and forward-thinking organizations.

    About Us

PYD programs all provide youth and young adults with disabilities with three key things: self-confidence, community, and purpose. We build disability pride, leadership skills, healthy relationship skills, community involvement, and ensure that youth are successful in school and in seeking employment.

We currently run programs focusing on mentoring, career readiness, and leadership development. These programs largely serve youth in the Greater Boston area, but our mentoring program has an online component that is open to young adults from across the United States.

At PYD, we welcome and include people of all abilities and disabilities, identities, and backgrounds. We believe that diverse and fully inclusive organizations empower individuals, heal communities, and create a better world for us all.
