    Description

Mentor a youth with a disability

We are looking for caring adults to serve as mentors for young people ages 14-24 with disabilities. Our goal in our one-to-one mentoring program, is to empower young people with disabilities to meet their full potential by matching them with a caring adult mentor, who serves as a role model and a friend. The relationship formed between the mentor and mentee has proven invaluable in improving the social and intellectual development and independence of youth and the experience is equally rewarding to the mentors! Initially, our matches are expected to commit to one year, and for at least 4 to 6 hours a month, and are in touch on a weekly basis by phone, email, or in-person.

    Summary:

    • One-to-one mentoring between adults (18 yrs old and up) and young people (14-24 yrs old) with disabilities
    • Volunteers must live in Massachusetts
    • Volunteers must be able to commit to a year long mentorship
    • Volunteers are expected to spend 4-6 hours of engagement a month with their mentee, meet their mentee AT LEAST once a month in-person, and keep in touch digitally (hybrid format)
