    Montauk Observatory was established in 2005 for the purpose of fostering interest in science and astronomy on the south fork of Long Island.

    About Us

    We hold lectures and other educational programs throughout the year in all the east end towns. We have an astronomical observatory (located in East Hampton, and a 20" research-grade telescope, which will be automated to provide remote access (via the internet) to students, teachers, researchers and the general public. We also hold cultural events that demonstrate the symbiotic relationship between science and the arts.
